The Experience I Bring

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and have been working within mental health and clinical settings for over 14 years. I have extensive experiences working across the lifespan (adults, older adults, children and young people) and within various settings (NHS, community services, prison in-reach, private healthcare providers, learning disability services). Within these roles I have worked with a variety of physical and mental health conditions. These include: chronic pain, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and stress-related disorders, dementia, personality disorders.

I have a BPS (British Psychological Society) Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision and enjoy supervising fellow psychologists (qualified or trainee) as well as other healthcare professionals.

I have published academic research focused on personal storytelling in mental health recovery.

I am a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the regulatory body for practitioner Clinical Psychologists in the UK. I adhere to the code of ethics and conduct laid out by the British Psychological Society. I comply with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidance, for your data privacy and protection.

I am fully insured for practice in the UK, with an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB).

My Values as a Clinical Psychologist

As a psychologist, I prioritise showing up for my clients with presence and authenticity. I aim to inspire hope, through a compassionate and curious approach, and a genuine interest in understanding your story and what you want to get from therapy.

Seeking therapy is a courageous act. I offer a therapeutic space that feels safe and containing; where we can look collaboratively at whatever difficulties you may bring, and extend your courage further into making changes that will help you to live your life according to what matters to you.

Ways of Working

I worked as an NHS psychologist for almost ten years, across various mental health services and specialising in older adults’ mental health for five years. I have vast experience of 1:1 therapy as well as working with couples/families, and also clinical teams. For the past three years I have been working as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in a community pain service, providing psychological therapy for people living with chronic pain. I am also qualified as a SIRPA-informed professional. SIRPA stands for the Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners’ Association and is the leading body for mindbody approaches to treating chronic pain in the UK.

I am clinically trained to work with a range of therapeutic models and specialise in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). These have a strong evidence base in the treatment of many difficulties and are advocated by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). Please visit our approaches page to learn more.

I currently have daytime appointment availability Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with some limited evening capacity on a Monday and Tuesday evenings too. I am a registered provider with all major insurance companies and see self funding clients too.
